Goals Statement

Past Goals
Besides being a professional volleyball player, pursuing a career in physical therapy and volleyball has been my goal ever since 8th grade. I broke my leg playing volleyball and during my recovery, I had to visit a physical therapist frequently. During that time I learned a lot about the job. It intrigued me that you can practice it in a wide range of environments like a swimming pool and with an even more comprehensive range of people and problems. 8th grade was also when I realized I loved volleyball because I couldn't play it for months and felt like a piece of my life was missing without it. I then decided I wanted to play not only in college but professionally.
Present Goals
To further my exploration into Physical therapy I decided to take an Anatomy and Biomedical Science class in high school. My anatomy class has allowed me to explore how the body works and why. Physical Therapy adds another layer to that and will help me explore what treatments or exercises will affect the body. I am currently majoring in Exercise Science at the University of Texas at Austin.
Future Goals
After college, I want to first work at a physical therapy place as an assistant or as a physical therapist. Then eventually one of my goals is to create a place mainly for athletes or former athletes to come and get the help they need as well as talk to other who may be in the same position they are. I feel being able to relate to someone else will help the recovery process be easier and people can motivate each other with their process. Another small goal I have is to promote a tall clothing line and have a mini store inside my business that sells some of those clothes as well as just regular sports attire.
